Installing ImotDesk

Installation takes about two minutes. You don’t need administrator rights.

Download for Windows

Version 0.33.2 from October 19, 2026 Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit

Prefer an MSI package All versions

  1. Download the installer

    Click “Download for Windows”. The file is called ImotDesk_0.33.2_x64-setup.exe and is saved to your “Downloads” folder.

  2. Keep the file in your browser

    Some browsers hold back rarely downloaded files. In Microsoft Edge you’ll see “… isn’t commonly downloaded”: hover over the message, click the three dots and then “Keep”. If Edge asks again, choose “Show more” and “Keep anyway”. In Chrome, click “Download anyway” or “Keep” if a warning appears.

  3. Run the installer

    Open your “Downloads” folder and double-click ImotDesk_0.33.2_x64-setup.exe.

  4. Confirm the Windows warning

    Windows shows “Windows protected your PC”. Click “More info”. Check that “App” shows the name ImotDesk_0.33.2_x64-setup.exe, then click “Run anyway”.

    Labels may differ slightly depending on your Windows version and language.

  5. Finish the installation

    Choose the installer language and click “Next” and “Install”. ImotDesk is installed for your Windows account only. If your PC lacks the Microsoft Edge WebView2 runtime (normally present on Windows 10 and 11), the installer downloads it – this needs an internet connection.

  6. Start ImotDesk

    Start ImotDesk from the Start menu. The warning only appears for the installer, not every time you open the program. New versions install via “Update now” inside the program.

No warning: unblock the file first

You can also avoid the warning: right-click ImotDesk_0.33.2_x64-setup.exe, choose “Properties”, tick “Unblock” under “Security” at the bottom and click “OK”. The installer then starts without the SmartScreen message.

There’s no “Run anyway” button?

Then “Smart App Control” is switched on in Windows 11. It blocks unsigned programs completely. You can turn it off under Windows Security → App & browser control → Smart App Control – but depending on your Windows version it may not be easy to turn back on afterwards. Please weigh this up yourself, or wait for a signed version.

MSI package

The MSI package is meant for deployment in company networks. It installs ImotDesk for all users of the PC and needs administrator rights. Confirm the Windows warning the same way as above.

Uninstalling

Settings → Apps → Installed apps → ImotDesk → Uninstall.
