XML feeds for property portals, explained simply
Many property portals don't take listings through an input form but through a feed: a file that contains all your offers. The portal collects it regularly and updates its listings.
How it works
- Your real estate software writes all listed properties into a file, usually in XML format.
- The file and the photos sit on a server under a fixed address.
- The portal fetches this address at regular intervals and takes over new, changed and removed properties.
The benefits
- Maintain once: change a price or text only in your software – every portal gets the change.
- Fewer mistakes: no conflicting details on different portals.
- Online faster: new properties appear with the next fetch.
Common formats
- Kyero (version 3) – also read by Idealista and Green-Acres
- OpenImmo – common in German-speaking countries
- BLM – Rightmove's format
Ask the portal's contact which format it expects and how the import is activated.
